All about Deepika Padukone and her Indian dresses

Deepika Padukone made her debut with Om Shanti Om in which she played a superstar and then a young girl. As per her superstar part, her dresses were chosen with care as per that era. She was always well-dressed and wore fashionable Indian dresses. The young girl was star struck and was more casual in her dressing sense. Her dresses included skirts, shorts, short tops and so on.

Deepika moved on to movies like karthik calling karthik in which she plays an educated working woman. In this, her Indian fashion sense incorporates a lot of western formal wear like pencil skirts, full sleeved white shirts, formal pants. Her movie Aarakshan shows her playing the part of a college student. Hence she is usually wearing salwar kameez or jeans with kurti and a stole.

Movies like Housefull depict her in a lot of skimpy outfits that include shorts, mini skirts, tops exposing her midriff along with swimwear. Desi Boyz again shows her in western casual wear like jeans and capris.

Her movie with Ranbir Kapoor titled Bachna Ae Haseeno shows her playing a cab driver in New York. She is seen in western wear like pants, shirts, jeans and cocktail dresses. Another movie was Cocktail in which she plays a free-spirited girl. Hence she is typically shown in short party dresses as she frequents pubs a lot. This movie also depicted her in a bikini for the first time.

Deepika Padukone transformed her dress sense completely in RamLeela in which she plays a Rajasthani girl. She wears Indian dresses from the state of Kutch. She is in lehenga choli at all times. Finding Fanny depicts her as a young girl from Goa and she is more casually dressed in shorts, casual tops and bermudas. Hence Indian fashion for Deepika has been as per the demands of her films.
